Sunnybrae notice

16/08/2017

On behalf of the Sunnybrae Normal School’s Board of Trustees, it is with mixed emotions that I announce that our principal Jennie Stewart has informed the Board that she will retire at the end of this year. After 24 years at the school, and 14 as Principal, Jennie has decided to embrace the opportunity to focus on her own family – spending more quality time with her grandchildren, children, husband and her parents. Jennie’s contribution to the school during her time here has been immense and she will be missed in ways that we cannot yet even imagine; but because of her passion, her skills and her dedication to the school and its staff she will be leaving it operating so smoothly that it will be very easy for the next principal to carry on. The Board has begun the process to recruit a new principal. The process will take a few months. But we expect to be ready for the new principal to start at the beginning of Term 1 next year. Throughout the process we will ensure that there will be very little disruption to the school and will let you know when we have made the appointment. So while we are very sad to see Jennie go, we fully understand her reasons and are pleased for her that she can take this perfect opportunity to enjoy her family.
