Term 3 Week 10 - Reminders and notices for the week beginning 25 September … This week we have attached a newsletter from the Science and Technology curriculum team, led by Anita Knight and Barbara Shepheard. Thanks to Anita, Barbara and curriculum team member Carolyn Hutton for preparing this update. Sports photos will be taken this Thursday 28 September for any children that currently play in a school sports team. Please remind them to bring their sports uniforms to school that day. A newsletter about Sports team options is available on the Home page of our website - www.sunnybrae.school.nz. Term 3 ends this Friday 29th September at 3.00 pm. Term 4 starts on Monday 16th October. School and individual photos are being taken in the first week of Term 4 on Thursday 19th October. Each child has been given an envelope with full details re cost and ordering. These envelopes must be returned to the office before 19th October. Please inquire at the office if you did not get one. Envelopes for sibling photos can also be collected from the office. (Please note: only siblings at Sunnybrae Normal School can be photographed.) From the PTA: Thank you to those who supported our Find-out-a-thon fundraiser this term. The amount raised was $8,656, which will be used to upgrade our computers and other Information Technology equipment. Prizes were awarded at our singing assembly last Friday. The prize given to the top fundraiser went to Korban McKinlay who raised $213.00. The names of all students who raised $50 or more or who had 10 or more sponsors were put into a prize draw for each syndicate. Winners of this draw were: Seniors: Fay Ajjam; Middles: Simon Jacobs; Juniors: Corey Kitto Smaller prizes were also given to the following children who raised $150 or more each: Esme Stewart-Smith ($195.00), Chloe Everett ($164) and Will Thornley ($150), and also to Joel and Cody Simpson who between them raised over $350 and Ruby and Sophia Railton who between them raised $200. Calendar orders need to be into the office by this Friday. Food Festival Organising Team – a meeting will be held tomorrow night at 7 pm in the staffroom. All those interested in being a part of this are welcome. Thanks to the following parents who helped with our sausage sizzle last Friday: Anna Won, Jeehye Yim, Songhui Sim, Sin Hooi Lee, Francis Leaf, Beth Railton, Ann Jacobs & Seul Gi Um. The term has flown by and there have been a number of highlights for the students. Thanks for your support of our events and activities and thanks to all of our staff for their enthusiasm and commitment to providing exciting and meaningful programmes of learning for the children.
