3/12/2017

Term 4 Week 8 - Reminders and notices for the week beginning 4 December … This week we have attached a newsletter from the Languages - Māori and ESOL curriculum team, led by Laura Bateman. Thanks to Laura and curriculum team members Christine Mason, Anna Blair, Catherine Sands, Melanie Hanson, Glenda Pretorius and Eva Roding for their contributions to this update. We have also uploaded some Parent Information brochures about the importance of oral language to our Parent Information page on the website - http://www.sunnybrae.school.nz/parent-information.html All curriculum updates are available from our website – http://www.sunnybrae.school.nz/why-choose-us.html (scroll to the bottom of this webpage to view them). This week each syndicate is having a special ‘fun’ day – today is for the Middle Syndicate, tomorrow for the Juniors and Thursday for the Seniors. Full information has been sent home with your child. The Year 6 students are being farewelled on Thursday between 5.30 and 6.30 pm. We hope all parents/caregivers will be able to attend this. School Reports: End of year reports are being sent home this Friday for all Years 4-6 students and for some Years 1-3 students. If your child is in Y1-3 and has recently received a report, they will not be receiving one this week. Please check with your child’s teacher if you are unsure. School Pool: The pool is now being used and students should bring their swimming gear with them for class lessons. Check with your child’s teacher as to what day they will need to bring their gear. If you wish to purchase a key to use the pool over the holidays, you first need to let the office know, so that the key and label can be prepared before you pick it up. Please note that keys will not be issued after 13 December. Digital Citizenship notices: All students from Year 3 upwards are required to sign a digital citizenship agreement. Our current Year 2 students were issued with these last week in preparation for next year. Please return the signed agreement to the office before the end of the year – ask at the office if you did not get one. PTA and 2018 Food Festival planning meeting is on tomorrow night Tuesday 5 December at 7.00 pm in the meeting room – all welcome. Stuck On You Fundraiser: The PTA will distribute a leaflet about this through the Junior and Middle Syndicates. The personalised name labels are particularly good for labelling uniforms.
