New Internet Cybersafety Use Agreement

21/01/2019

Kia ora all parents and caregivers On the first day back next Wednesday 30 January, children should bring home a document called "Cybersafety at Picton School". The previous agreement that you will have signed is now null and void. This is an updated document and contains important information about how children access and use the internet at Picton School. It includes a copy of the Cybersafety Rules for Children which all children will be given a copy of at school to read and sign with teacher guidance. Parents / caregivers must read through the document and then sign and return the tear off section at the end only. Please retain the remainder for your records. This gives your child(ren) permission to use the internet at Picton School and to have a Google account administered by the school. It also acknowledges that you are aware of the contract that the children need to sign. No children will have access to the internet (including posting on Class Dojo) until this new agreement is signed and returned by their parent / caregiver so please read through it and sign and return it as soon as possible. Online learning and storage of work is becoming an increasing part of school life so it is important that we ensure we follow excellent processes to ensure the safety of children online. If you have any questions about anything in the agreement please contact me at the school or email me on ed@picton.school.nz Thank you for your cooperation and time in this matter. Kind Regards Ed Roggeveen Associate Principal, Teacher with Responsibility for Digital Learning.
