Sunnybrae Term 1 Week 3 reminders

12/02/2017

Term 1 Week 3 - Reminders and notices for the week beginning 13 February … Classroom Helpers Meeting We are very grateful for any help that parents/caregivers can provide on a regular basis in the classroom i.e. preparing resources (or taking them home), working in reading, writing or maths under the direction of the teachers. Parents wishing to assist in the classroom this year need to come to an organisation/training session to be held this Tuesday 14 February at 9.00 am in the staffroom with our Deputy Principal, Cathy O’Hanlon. If you are unable to attend this but would like to help, you will need to arrange a separate time to talk with Cathy before helping in the classroom. Mobile Dental Van The van will be at school for the next two weeks. All children will have their teeth checked at some time – if your child’s teeth are not checked this time, this will happen later in the year. If your child needs work done, you will be advised to take him/her to the dental clinic located in the Glenfield Intermediate School grounds. Lucky Book Orders Information about Ashton Scholastic books was sent home with each child last Thursday. Orders for books can either be done online or left at the office. Orders must be in by the morning of Friday 17th February. No late orders will be accepted. Please note that we will offer this opportunity once in each term. Jubilee Artwork As a follow-up to previous emails about this, we have compiled a list of names of those who have donated. We will forward this list via our email tree shortly so that you can check that we have your name on the list and that we have spelt it correctly. The last day for making a donation and having your name included is next Tuesday 21st February. Meet the Teacher evening Thanks to the parents/caregivers who came along to meet their child’s teacher last week. For those of you who were unable to attend, I will include some key points discussed in next week’s full newsletter. Please return the goals sheet sent home last week to your child’s class teacher so that they know what you would like them to focus on this year. If you were unable to attend you should have received a syndicate newsletter on Friday summarising key points made by your child’s teacher at the meeting. Please let the office know if you did not receive this. Enjoy the week ☺ Ngā mihi nui Jennie Stewart (Principal)
