Term 1 Week 9 - Reminders and notices for the week beginning 27 March … International Food Festival – we are delighted to tell you that we have made $12,125 profit from this event so far with some more still to come in from the Silent Auctions. What a wonderful team effort; thanks again to the PTA for their leadership and to everyone who contributed. Please let us know if you are coming by returning the slip or phoning the office, if you have not already done so. English, Maths and Science tests - last week information was sent home with Years 5 & 6 students re the Kiwi English, Maths and Science tests being conducted by the University of Canterbury. Please inquire at the office or with your child’s teacher if you did not receive this. (Please note: these NZ tests are replacing the Australian ICAS tests sat in previous years). Payment for these is due by 13th April at the latest. If you are paying online please also return the slip to indicate which tests you are paying for. Swimming Pool Keys – these will need to be returned next week as the pool will close on 3 April. Year 3 Netball - we have a coach who is really keen but only have two students who have registered for the team; there are five more places available. The programme is a 10 week programme starting on the 15 May and finishing on 14 August (with a break for school holidays from 3 July to 17 July). Games are played at the AMI Netball North Harbour courts on Northcote Road. Year 3's play 5 a-side on Monday afternoons. A weekly draw is available on the North Harbour Website and games are played between 4pm and 6pm. A skill session is also run each week 15 minutes prior to the game. Teams of 7 will be entered and they sub on and off. Parents can register directly on https://sunnybrae-normal-school.enrolmy.com Parent-teacher conferences - have you made a time yet? Times are available on Tuesday afternoon 11 April or Wednesday 12 April from 1.30 pm. You can book online at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz, put in the code p4g7x or contact the office to make a time. Parking in Cobblestone Lane and Northgrove Ave – we have received some complaints from our neighbours related to the way parents are parking in Cobblestone Lane and Northgrove Ave as they pick up and drop off children. Parents are parking across driveways and blocking footpaths making it dangerous for pedestrians and very inconvenient for residents; please park legally. PTA Sausage Sizzle Coordinators - We are looking for someone (or two people) to do the following jobs for the sausages sizzles twice each term: - Purchase the sausages, bread, etc and deliver to school on the morning of the sausage sizzles - Coordinate the parent helpers for the sausage sizzles (mostly through email) If you think you could do either or both of these jobs, Cathy would be very happy to hear from you.
