Sunnybrae Term 2 Week 2 reminders

7/05/2017

Kia ora koutou, here are the reminders and notices for the week beginning 8 May … This week is Road Safety Week. The eldest child in each family should have brought home a flier with full details last Friday. Please ask at the office if you did not get one. This Friday 12th May has been designated as Bright Day – children are allowed to wear mufti (non uniform) clothes to school – preferably in bright colours and it would be great if they could join our teachers to walk part of the way to school. The four designated meeting points (at 8.15 am) are the Coronation Road Dairy, the North Shore Events Centre, Stancich Reserve in Hillcrest Avenue and McDonalds car park, Akoranga Drive. Also on Friday we are having our first full school assembly for the term, hosted by Rooms 2 and 17. A prize draw will be held for all students whose names have been put on the Travelwise Tree as part of the Assembly. The Senior Kapa Haka Tuakana group will also perform. All parents/caregivers and friends are welcome to join us – starting time 2.15 pm in the school hall. Our annual disco to raise funds for our World Vision sponsored child in Malawi is being held next Friday 19 May. If you are able to help sell snacks, cook sausages, sell glowsticks or help clean up, please email Karen Rodger krodger@sunnybrae.school.nz to let her know how you are able to help. Students in the Senior Festival Choir have practices every Tuesday at 8.15 am in the music room starting this week. Ashton Scholastic Book Order forms were sent home last week. Book orders must be received by this Friday morning. The first PTA meeting of the term is being held tomorrow night (Tuesday 9 May) at 7 pm in the meeting room – all welcome ☺ Ngā mihi nui Jennie Stewart (Principal)
